daddy dearest

sunday nite dinner@home.
mum cooked 'pha-mee' today. one of my fav! haha... so, i had my dinner 1st. not my fault! nobody else wanted to eat with me, how pathetic! LOL... mum+dad was bz-ing with i oso duno wad! bro was sick in bed. so i had mine... then i onlined.
then daddy had his dinner. halfway thru, he came into my room holding one cut-off bottle of FROZEN thingie. he asked me, "wat's tis?"
ok. lemme explain 1st. the bottle actually contained honey. but somehow, duno who TER-put the honey into the freezer! and it got frozen. so mum wanted to de-frost it for my fever-ish bro (i'll opt for ginseng tea if im feverish! hehe... but he thinks its rather yucky, so honey lor), so she cut-off the bottle and left it on the dining table, for later use. no more label there, and it rili DOES NOT look like honey at all - gota admit tat!
so daddy came and asked me wad was tat, while i was playing some lame online game. i just glanced over my shoulder and said, "honey. can mix if u want to."
tat is all i said. haha... anyway, this 'incident' rili made me realize that im very the ridiculous, sometimes! hahahaha...
so daddy was eating when mummy came to join him. and somehow, (cos my room is just next to dining room), i only managed to hear, "ling tol me can mix leh!" (LOL!!! im LOL-ing here as i type! my gudiness! whahahahahahahahaha!)
then i went out and check on the situation. hahahha... daddy reconfirmed with me - u said can mix rite? i dun even know wads tis! (he din hear me clearly wen i said "honey"! he only got the part i said, can mix!) i said, yea - i said so but... (LOL! cudnt even managed to finish my sentence! burst into laughter liau! rili laf my head out! mum oso!) LOL!!! and eventually, dad was oso lafing! wahlao!!! but lucky he only managed to korek a bit of the frozen honey nia to MIX! hahaha...
ok, not entirely his fault, u see. i know i know, its MY FAULT. im sorry lor... but funy, man! u see, mummy cooked it with lotsa extra ingredients to be mixed in, on our own - some in bottles, some on plates. so, tats y this 'accident' can happen!
LOL. wen i calmed down, i told him i was just kacau-ing him! i tot he heard the "honey" word! my gudiness! LOL... gona take me few days to really stop lafing over this matter! hahahah!!
my dad, he is very well-known for his 'fierce' looking appearance (nia nia), but oso, at the same time, very the well-known for being very the humorously ridiculous dad. hahaha.. TRUE! tats is why i can be bluggin abt this! hahaha... once anyone gets to know him, they'll know how ridiculous he is! hahahaha... all those family frens, the aunties sekalian, they wud tell us, his doters - "ur dad is very funny hor?!" haha... (porkey shud remember tat!) haha... LOL. and im very very sure my sis n porkey wud laf dead reading this! hahahaha...
ridiculousity #2 for tonite - they were toking about how the birds like to 'hang out' on the window grille of my bro's room - and poo-ed on the grille many a time! mummy said maybe she shud tie some plastic bags there temporarily to scare em away (like in paddy field! hehehe)... and again, guess wad daddy said?
daddy said: write "do not poo here IN CHINESE" and hang the 'notice' there!
i duno why, spontaneously i answered: why chinese? wad if they cannot read chinese? maybe they are 'lakia' (iban) birds?
*maybe I gota change my way of toking too... one day =D and stop being SO ridiculous at times!!! hehehe... call me a homey person, but im REALLY glad i have such family! hehe... happy reading peeps, and hapy monday!

fever

jeng jeng... my bro's sitting for his PMR tomolo, and he's down with fever and duno wad n duno wad. hehehehe.... all of a sudden! hehe... went for an injection earlier. but stil the same. jeng jeng! and he looks soooooo drowsy the whole day, it makes me feel sleepy looking at him! LOL... =P
anyway, have a very very nice week ahead yea! hehe...

condolence

(fwded mail)
A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come
and pray with her father.
When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows. An empty chair sat beside his bed. The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit.

"I guess you were expecting me", he said.

"No, who are you?" said the father.

The minister told his name and then remarked, "I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew I was going to show up."

"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man.

"Would you mind closing the door?"

Puzzled, the minister shut the door.

"I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man.

"But all of my life I have never known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went over my head."

"I abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued, "until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus. Here is what was suggested.

"Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair.

"It's not spooky because he promised, "I will be with you always".

"Then just speak to him in the same way you are doing with me right now."

"So, I tried and I've liked it so much that I do it a couple of hours every day. I am careful though if my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."

The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey. Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and returned to the church.

Two nights later, the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon.

"Did he die in peace?" he asked.

"Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek.

When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him dead.

Apparently, just before daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed.

"What do you make of that?"

The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, "I wish I could go like that".
for the 'manna' pastor from US who came to our church sometimes mths ago - according to our pastor, he passed away on fri... condolences to the wife and family. the couple even planned to come to our church again next year.
but then again, who are we to plan huh?

talcum powder

(fwded mail... hehe)
This incident happened last week on the air....

Yasmin Yusof, a DJ on Radio 4 asked listeners on her radio program to call to answer trivia questions. The first caller to give the correct answer would get a prize from the sponsor.
She asked: "Can anyone out there tell me the household name of Sodium Chloride".

A caller who is a housewife called up eager to answer the question. Not knowing the answer to the question, she asked Yasmin for a clue. "Something you put on your husbands eggs in the morning." she said.

The lady confidently said : "Talcum powder".

Yasmin Yusof did not return to the air until after a few songs!
hehe... enjoy ur weekend! =( im working tomolo! *sob *sob...

joke of the day

5 NUNS IN TOWN

Sisters Mary Catherine, Maria Theresa, Katherine Marie, Rose Frances, & Mary Kathleen left the Convent on a trip to St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City and were sight-seeing on a Tuesday in July. It was hot and humid in town and their traditional garb was making them so uncomfortable, they decided to stop in at Patty McGuire's Pub for a cold soft drink.

Patty had recently added special legs to his barstools, which were the talk of the fashionable eastside neighborhood. All 5 Nuns sat up at the bar and were enjoying their Cokes when Monsignor Riley and Father McGinty entered the bar through the front door.

They, too, came for a cold drink when they were shocked and almost fainted at what they saw.

hobby

ha! slept super the late last nite - 330am, and woke up at 815am. soooooo very the sleepy i was in office the whole day! hahahaha.. terible! no more next time! no more no more! lesson learnt! gona 'sign-in' to bed early tonite. 1130pm. must.
anyway, some ppl and their hobbies... can rili make me shake my head and grin non-stop - NO MATTER HOW WELL-AWARE I AM OF THOSE HOBBIES, and NO MATTER HOW DAMN SLEEPY I AM! hahaha... adushhh. rili the 'bo-ua-kong' kinda state i am, EVERYTIME when the project a.k.a hobby topic is being brot up.
but then again, i guess tat is wad hobby is all about? haha... regardless of the time, the effort, the super-tiny-ness of the things, the super complicated-looking manuals, etc! ppl just dun care much of all those when it comes to doin things that they enjoy, i KNOW. just tat i find it CUTE. haha... i mean, ahh.. nvm. haha.. =D
i understand very well, of cos, from someone who kenak 'investigated' so lengthily by her parents when she decided to spend her 3-mths holidays' income - ALL on a very newly launched 'stuff', years ago, and then when tat one die-ed, she spent another hugeR sum on another one with her 1st year working *bonus. of cos, all these came with skeptical looks from her parents again, esp the 2nd one, but cant help it. hahha... (even tho the outcome of the 'hobby' is stil not tat good yet... but its very the worth it!) hehe...
but then again, aihhh... when i came across ppl's full post on a certain time-consuming project, i can only smile from one earring-less tip of my one ear to the other tip with earring. hahaha! LOL.. just exaggerating. hehe.. adushhh. rili vcute. very very. but rili 'phui-fuk' - such mini thing! tsk tsk tsk...
*chatting with my sis now, the elder one. toking about scams n phone calls etc. gues wad? she said, got a phone call from the no. 016-5354038. haha.. read it in cantonese - sure laf dead! haha... but very easy to remember hor, the no? hahaha... oki. goin to sleep liau. NITES!

happy mooncake fest!

went to celebrate at a cyn's hse, and... haha, before i proceed with the pixes, sheela (non-chinese) asked us, "anyone here knows exactly how this fest came about? the history?" haha! that Q certainly had all of us MUTED! hahahahaha! i DONT even remember wads the cute story behind this! haha... u see, every celebration normally has its own 'kisah dongeng' to 'explain' its existance. but this one, i RILI cudnt rmber! haha.. so while hanging the lanterns, we tok abt it - 2 baseless stories we cud think of:

(1) neh, the mooncake was used to send out messages during wad wad war time? or sumting lidat? the ppl stuffed some papers with messages into the paste and was molded into sumting like a mooncake? (but why do they call it MOON cake? again, we were muted. cudnt link the msg-thingie & the moon! hahahaha)
(2) the story of the moon goddess and the duno-wad-guy... its a guy ok. something like a forbidden love thingie? goddess got cursed? aihh... duno lah. hahaha... so we ended up changing topic! LOL...

(stil dare to call urself chinese! tsk tsk tsk...) hehe...

anyway, had a fun time. all the lanterns were from ME (except for the 5 from the hseowner!) haha... i mean, i brot them all from home. we, as in my siblings and i, have one boxful of em (plus minus 100? duno...nvr counted), and some were legendary. hahaha... REALLY! esp those katun ones, each of em belongs to different owner, some mine, some porkey's, some lil bro's. hehe.. actually, the katun ones, i tink only one belongs to me! hahaha... but stil, tat is the most precious one! haha...
okie, pixes...

hung arnd 45 lanterns nia nia, due to the 'Attack of the Lazyworms' - malas having to keep changing the candles! hahaha... ended up with a lil more than half left in the box!

the traditional types - some with ribbons, some plain. i love the plain yellow ones the most! haha...

the katun types - (1) moonie, (2) bee, (3)tiger (?), (4) snoopy, (5) the oh-so cacat hello kitty, and (6) the overly made-up sun! hehe... like i said, only ONE out of these 6 katuns belong to me - the moonie. hehe... but i love bee alot alot. very the cute! (yesh, its porkey's) and i hate the last two the most. hello kitty, ermmm... nvr liked it! and the sun! my gudiness... as if the make up is too heavy lidat! gelik mati me! haha...

tadaa... close up, my moonie - gues wad? it has been with me for MORE THAN HALF OF MY LIFE, if im not mistaken! that is why i call it my 'pride n joy'! hahaha... LOL. and the candle that it uses - the huge white ones ler.

oh yea, at one point, a fren ALMOST tripped over and ALMOST fell, and he TER-knock on the bee. haha... gues wad? we all saw that he ALMOST trip, and we all saw that he TER-knock the bee, but instead of being kanceung about his safety, i held my breath and exclaimed, "BEE!" LOL. another said anxiously, "u dun burnt tiau the lantern!!"... and only after that, he said, "yen lai the lantern is more precious than me!" LOL! hahahaha... no mar, he din fall mar. tats y. we arent that kejam la. haha... (and besides, i know if the bee is to get burnt, porkey's gona be soooooooooooooo loso-ish!) hehe... =P
okie okie... gota sleep liau. hehe... gudnite ppl! hope u all had a great nite too!

to risk nothing

“To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To hope is to risk pain.
To try is to risk failure,
but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.”
Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow - that is patience.”
